11月16日，费城交响乐团欢迎仪式暨“以音会友 与倷共鸣”2023苏州国际日活动在苏州文化艺术中心举行，“费城之约”费城交响乐团与苏州交响乐团室内乐音乐会精彩上演。

The Suzhou Culture and Arts Centre hosted the welcome ceremony for the Philadelphia Orchestra on November 16, along with the “Bond Through Melody, Resonate in Rhythm” 2023 Suzhou International Day.

两国音乐家带来了耳熟能详的民歌《在那遥远的地方》《茉莉花》，以及弦乐三重奏、英国管与弦乐四重奏、单簧管五重奏等演奏曲目，古典的管弦音乐与浓郁的江南韵味交融共生，尽展艺术魅力。

The Philadelphia Orchestra and Suzhou Symphony Orchestra performed a variety of pieces at the concert, including folk songs "In That Faraway Place" and "Jasmine Flower" as well as a string trio, string quartet and clarinet quintet. The performance skillfully blended classical orchestral music with the distinctive charm of Jiangnan culture.

当天上午，费城交响乐团的音乐家们还来到拙政园、苏州博物馆，演奏《兰花花》《茉莉花》等经典曲目，为苏州市民带来一场独特的“音乐邂逅”。

In the morning, musicians from the Philadelphia Orchestra visited the Humble Administrator's Garden and Suzhou Museum, where they performed classical pieces.

今年是费城交响乐团友好访华50周年。年初，苏州赴美国举办iSING! Suzhou与费城交响乐团《唐诗的回响》新春音乐会，并开展多场“苏州主题日”活动。此次费城交响乐团为纪念乐团首次访华50周年开启中国巡演之旅，将苏州作为继北京、天津之后的第三站。

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Philadelphia Orchestra's historic 1973 tour of China. Earlier this year, the Suzhou Culture and Arts Centre co-hosted the Echoes of Ancient Tang Poems: iSING! Suzhou with the Philadelphia Orchestra in celebration of Lunar New Year. The Philadelphia Orchestra’s China tour this year included stops in Beijing, Tianjin and Suzhou.

“音乐能架起人与人之间的桥梁。1973年那次演出至今仍被许多中国观众所铭记，并成为了双方友谊的象征。同时，我们也希望我们的音乐创作能够继续在两国人民之间架起桥梁。”费城交响乐团及金梅尔中心总裁兼首席执行官马提亚斯·塔诺波斯基说。

Matías Tarnopolsky, president and CEO of The Philadelphia Orchestra and the Kimmel Center, said that music builds bridges between people, and the 1973 tour is still remembered by many Chinese audiences as a symbol of friendship. He expressed his hope that this new visit will continue to facilitate contact and exchange between the two countries.
